Program Overview

Overview:
The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Accounting and Finance is an internally developed program within the field of accountancy. It is designed to equip students with essential functional and personal competencies, along with a broad business perspective aligned with the needs of organizations across all sectors. The program emphasizes critical thinking, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills, complemented by entrepreneurial, ethical, and professional capabilities necessary to thrive in today’s dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment. It offers students the opportunity to develop advanced skills in the accounting profession, enabling both career progression and exemptions from qualifications offered by globally recognized professional accounting bodies.

Graduates of this program will possess the expertise to effectively manage businesses or organizations, with a strong focus on financial performance and equity management. The curriculum is industry-relevant, covering key areas such as corporate reporting, financial control, audit engagement, treasury, performance management, regulatory compliance, and professional ethics. This qualification prepares students to excel as accountants or entrepreneurs, equipped with leadership qualities and comprehensive knowledge required for successful careers in accounting within both public and private sectors.


This program is a collaboration with Genovasi University Malyisa  

Each student will be conferred two distinct certificates: one issued by West Cambridge College and the other by Genovasi.

The languages of study are English, French, and Arabic. The student could choose these languages

The graduates of our Bachelor of Science (Honours) Accounting and Finance will meet the educational entry requirements of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and are eligible to take the examination of the U.S. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification.

The graduates of our Bachelor of Science (Honours) Accounting and Finance will meet the entry requirements of The Institute of Internal Auditors and are eligible to take the examination of the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

The graduates of our Bachelor of Science (Honours) Accounting and Finance will meet the Associate (post-nominal of AIPA) membership requirements of The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) Australia.

IPA is one of Australia’s oldest representative professional bodies, formed over 90 years ago in 1923. IPA is one of three professional accounting bodies recognised in Australian legislation, alongside the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and CPA Australia. IPA is recognised in Commonwealth and State law in Australia and our members are recognised by the Australian Government as Qualified Accountants and have equal standing under Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) rulings.

 

 

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Accounting and Finance has been accredited by The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and granted exemptions for 8 papers – the full CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA) and CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Dip MA).

The graduates of our Bachelor of Science (Honours) Accounting and Finance will have to pass the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Adv Dip MA) and the final strategic level examination to qualify as Chartered Management Accountants.

CIMA® founded in 1919, is the world’s leading and largest professional body of management accountants. In 2017, together with the American Institute of CPAs®, it formed the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants® (the Association) to serve the needs of public and management accountants worldwide.

 

 

The graduates of our Bachelor of Science (Honours) Accounting and Finance has been accredited by The Association of International Accountants (AIA) and granted maximum exemptions for the full AIA Foundation Level @ Certificate in Accountancy and Professional Level 1 @ Diploma in Accountancy.

AIA was founded in 1928 and is a Recognised Qualifying Body (RQB) for statutory auditors in the UK  as well as a Prescribed Body in the Republic of Ireland. The AIA qualification is recognised as a Designated Body by the European Union under the Mutual Recognition Directive in respect of the activity of Company Auditor. This recognition extends to the European Economic Area nations.

In Malaysia, AIA is recognised under Section 153(3) of the Income Tax Act 1967, for purpose of registration as an Authorised Tax Agent. AIA members are eligible for membership of The Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM).
