A1.1 / A1.2 Beginner Level

General Description: The beginner level aims to enable the student to acquire the skills of reading

and writing and to conduct short and simple conversations on specific topics, helping the student

build a linguistic foundation that qualifies them to progress to the next level.

Objectives: The level aims for the student to master: • Reading and writing Arabic letters and

mastering their sounds • Using words and short sentences in daily life situations • Introducing

oneself and conducting simple conversations • Expressing basic needs in different places such as

the restaurant, airport, and hotel

Beginner Level Content: First: Vocabulary and Structures: • Letters: their sounds, names, reading,

and writing • Expressing days of the week, dates, and time • Talking about oneself: basic

information, personal traits, and hobbies • Daily routine: I wake up, I go, I study, I work • Vocabulary

related to the following topics: classroom (chair, board, teacher), house (room, kitchen, door,

window), body parts (head, eye, hand), daily situations (restaurant, university, airport, taxi, hotel)

Second: Basic Grammar: • Pronouns • Types of verbs in simple forms and their conjugations •

Negation • Possessive pronouns • Numbers 1-20 • Demonstrative pronouns • Plurals and their

types • Place and time adverbs • Interrogative tools • Prepositions

Third: Cultural Aspect: • Greeting methods in the Arab world in general and Jordan in particular •

Common phrases in daily situations • Ways of communicating with others and customs related to

food

At the end of the level, the student is expected to: • Read and write short texts in correct Arabic •

Introduce oneself and ask others about their conditions • Talk about daily life • Ask and answer

simple questions • Handle practical situations: booking a hotel, ordering food, taking a taxi
